Badminton

Badminton is a high-speed game requiring great tactical awareness, nimble footwork and fast racket skills. At Eton we have three courts, one in the Badminton Hall and two courts in the Whiteley Hall.

During their first year at Eton, boys may choose badminton as part of the minor sports programme. For those keen to progress further, the Badminton Club, held in the evenings, provides the opportunity for learning new strokes and gaining competition at a higher level. In recent years, Yonex, accompanied by ex-British number one, Julie Bradbury, have visited us to give an annual workshop.

There are fixtures in both the Michaelmas and Lent Halves, the main opposition being Harrow, Wellington, Bradfield and the Oratory School.
