 Plans have been approved to rebuild Carter House as a 25th Oppidan House.
The number of boys will not increase but the renewed Carter House will mean that Eton can renovate the other 24 houses (plus College facilities) on a rotating basis without having to work around boys and House Masters.
It will also provide additional opportunities for summer and holiday lettings.
The necessary work will cost around £2.6 million.

Every gift matters. Regular donations can add up quickly and benefit from favourable tax treatment. The 1440 Society, recognising donors of £100 a month (or an annual equivalent) is a case in point.
