Primary school children perform at Eton College

Pupils from Foxborough Primary School & Castleview Primary School in Slough created their own artwork and music based on the theme of friendship, as part of the latest OrganworksEton Project.

The children visited Eton College at the start of last term to learn about organ music and stained glass windows. They then took part in a series of workshops back in their classrooms involving musicians, a poet, an artist, staff from Eton’s music department and their own teachers. From these they created a series of original artwork, music and poetry.

Their hard work culminated in special performances for families and friends held in Eton College Chapel. Their guests were also able to see displays of the colourful and imaginative artwork they had produced.

“Another really successful Organworks - one of our best yet!” said Liz Cooper the Project Leader. “The excitement and enthusiasm shown by the children during their visits to Eton is always an inspiration. Once again, feedback from staff and parents was extremely positive. We are looking forward to our next programme in the autumn.”

OrganworksEton works with four schools each year and has been running for 14 years. It has been funded by Eton College since 2009.
