College Collections

49 children from Colnbrook Primary School recently visited the Collections.  The children took part in a number of activities linked to their science topic of Movement and Growth, from drawing specimens using magnifying glasses, inspired by Hooke and College Library’s edition of Micrographia, to millipede making over in the Natural History Museum.  Following on from their studies of Tudor Britain, the children also discovered a unique early 16th century wall painting showing boys at school and the oldest classroom in continuous use in the country.  Members of the Eton team were then delighted to be invited to Colnbrook for the Year 3 Assembly telling the school and their parents all about the visit in spectacular ‘newshound’ style.
