Sunday afternoon saw the first in this year’s Children’s Concerts. Mr Nick Goetzee assembled a crack squad of musicians for a concert entitled ‘All that Jazz’, and the audience were treated to 25 minutes of great music. Over 50 parents and children who came to watch, and the Parry Hall was alive with the sounds of drum kit, bass, piano, trumpets and saxophone. D blocker Rick Zhao ME also sang a rat-pack number to great acclaim, and the afternoon was rounded off with Dizzy Gillespie’s classic ‘On the sunny side of the street’.

The ECMS Children’s Concerts were established in September 2017 as an opportunity for children of pre and primary-school ages to come into the Music Schools and hear a wide range of music played by Etonians and music staff. They have proved very popular with children and parents in the local community. Each concert lasts for half an hour and are open to all, free of charge on Sunday afternoons. The next concert is on Sunday 18th November, where the Junior String Orchestra will be performing.
