Nine boys attended the Secondary Schools’ United Nations Symposium (SSUNS) in Montreal, Canada over the weekend. Five boys represented the Netherlands on big committees such as the Food and Agricultural Organisation and the Disarmament and International Security committee. The other four boys sat on special simulations, such as the War of the Roses (one boy a Yorkist, another a Lancastrian) and Shakespeare’s Julius Caesar. Alongside many committee sessions, we also toured ICAO headquarters (International Civil Aviation Organisation) and explored the city of Montreal. The boys had a fantastic time, widely praising the conference as the best-run they’d ever attended. In addition, we picked up four individual awards and an Honourable Mention for the Eton delegation as a whole. All in all, a tiring but very successful weekend.
