Last week, two groups of D Block boys visited The University of Reading to give presentations on unsung heroines of science. The event was organised to coincide with International Women’s Day and also included lectures delving into the area of chemistry research.

Roma Wilson (AW), Archer (MGHM), Daudy (PEPW) and De bono (JMOB), were awarded second place for their superb talk on Ellen Swallow Richards. It combined history, social commentary and a good deal of science.

Although Rahala (Coll), Marinov (Coll), Bahadur (PAH), Krefting (PGW) did not place overall, their talk on Asima Chatterjee went down very well and they were asked numerous questions about it afterwards.
