The speaker at last night’s weekly VocSoc career seminar was Andrew Fullen, Head of Technology and Innovation at Sogeti Labs and their AI Lead for the UK, talking about the role of software testing in business development.
In a talk that was fascinating, entertaining and informative in equal measure, Andrew gave his audience real insight into the changes that have taken place in business and the ever-increasing importance of technical appreciation and expertise when it comes to advising companies and institutions on their structures and systems.
He answered questions throughout and was able to provide some great examples of how technical progress can force businesses to reconsider their business plan and even change the thrust of what they offer. His anecdotal approach left his audience with a clear understanding of what a consultant does and the sheer variety and challenge that the role offers.
