Cricket round-up

Matches this week were played against Sutton Valence and Harrow.
The XI batted fitfully in their innings against the Kent school, but finished strongly with runs for Sangha, Gross and Fitzroy for a reasonable total of 275-9 from their 55 overs.
An excellent chase, led by Vernon (135), calmly and skillfully put together, meant that our opponents were always within striking distance, and they needed five off the last ball.  Four were scored and a tie was the result.  The big block fixture against Harrow saw some excellent performances – the XXXIII were very good in the field with Jack Crichton and Nick Hely-Hutchinson leading a disciplined bowling attack, and they won their game.
T1 also won well with a good bowling display (Carleton-Smith 4-11), and T3 batted powerfully (Lambton 76*) to be too good for their Harrow counterparts.
Star of the day was Tom Shaw in the USA who scored 115* to see his side home to victory.  The XXII won in their own style, scrambling over the line (Oli Humphreys 52), and 62 from Settrington set up a win for T3.  LSD lost their unbeaten record in a good game, while both LSB and LSC also lost to a strong Harrow year group.
