Henley 2009

The VIII beat St Paul's School, setting new record times to the Barrier (1:47) and to Fawley (3:03) and rowing comfortably over the second half of the course.  These supersede our own records from 1995.
The 2nd VIII led University College Dublin A off the start, but giving away two stone a man soon took its toll and in the end they lost by 2 and a half lengths.  This was a spirited performance against a selected (ie seeded) crew.
Today, The VIII race Hampton School at 1435.  Ian Lawson, who has been coaching the 2nd VIII for us, begins his defence of the Diamond sculls at 1120 against the lightweight world champion.
