Eton College Collections welcomed back Year 4 from Eton Porny CofE First School for the second of three visits complementing a local history module entitled ‘Our Community’. Thinking about mapping, orienteering and exploration we saw Fialetti’s early 17th century bird’s eye View of Venice painting, a number of photographs showing the changing face of Eton High Street over the last one hundred years or more, and went on a discovery trail, looking for landmarks and visual clues to the story of Eton and Eton College. Using their visit as stimulus material, the children will produce their own bird’s eye view of their school and its surroundings.
