Earlier this month, we were delighted to welcome the OSCAR Foundation to Eton as part of their UK tour, a truly inspiring visit from a group of remarkable young people.
The OSCAR Foundation, based in Mumbai, is a Sports for Development non-profit organisation dedicated to empowering children from underserved communities. Through a powerful combination of football and education, the Foundation equips young people with essential life skills, building resilience and helping them shape brighter futures for themselves and their families.
Their guiding principle, No School, No Football, ensures that education remains at the heart of everything they do.
Experience has shown that overseas travel for these young people has a lasting impact. They return to their communities as role models, more determined to stay in education, and better equipped to change their lives and that of their family.
During their time with us, we had the pleasure of showing the boys around London, where they took in some of the city’s most iconic sights including the London Eye, Buckingham Palace and the Houses of Parliament.
The following day, we hosted them at Eton for a fun and engaging programme, which included a creative art workshop, a spirited game of Fives, and a competitive football match which ended in a well-deserved victory for the OSCAR team!
We were deeply inspired by the boys’ smiles, energy, determination, and enthusiasm, as well as their exceptional football skills! It was a joy to spend time with such talented and driven young individuals. This tour really was a journey of learning, sharing, and transformation for us all.
