On the 4th July, the new Agar's Pavilion was officially opened with a Twenty20 cricket match. The teams were made up of Eton Ramblers, young and old …one led by William Russell and the other by Fergus Boyd.

Fergus's team scored 161 off their 20 overs with a number of retirements, not many wickets taken… Gareth Lewis bowled well, as did Andy Watt. Ed Farley, Harry Chetwode and Adrian Zagoritis batted through to the 35 retirement score ….it was felt 161 was a bought score to reach. William Russell went 2nd ball caught sharply by Farley off Boyd's bowling.

Everyone was keen to see J Boden re-enact his glory days when he scored 50 at Lord's, sartorially he was perfect with the Boden whites, however his forward defensive had a large gap and he was bowled early on. Felix Hartley Russell, Ed Russell and Matthew Fleming got us very close and 4 was needed off the last ball, somehow we managed to run 3 and it was a tie….a fine end to a great game in front of the New Pavilion.

Many thanks to all who contributed to the evening and to the Pavilion itself. Special thanks to Johnnie Boden, without his backing and time it would not have happened, you can see why he runs a successful business!! Floreat Etona.
