Last Thursday aspiring medics were able to practise their interview skills by completing a circuit of interview stations focussing on specific aspects of medical life. Such Multiple Mini Interview (MMI) circuits are now used by the majority of medical schools rather than the traditional panel interview. Stations tested their skills and knowledge on areas such as:
Problem solving
Ethics
Work experience
Motivation for studying Medicine
Data interpretation
NHS Hot Topics
Professionalism
Breaking bad news

Etonians were paired with students from LAE and successfully rose to the challenge over the gruelling two-and-a-half hour session. Afterwards they were able to compare notes with each other and get further feedback from the doctors and medical students from The MedicPortal, who ran the session so expertly.
