Julene Aguirre-Bielschowsky talked to the Banks society about ‘Ento’, a company she co-founded to produce insect based food. She discussed the origins of her company from a design and engineering project, the types of insects eaten, how people view eating insects and what can be done to change this, as well as the company’s aim to get people eating insects as an everyday food. The audience was then treated to a nutty, meaty tasting snack, and a vegetable wrap, where the wrap was made using ground waxworms.
