Ms Hayward has had an extraordinary career in film – she started out as an assistant at the then-unknown production company Working Title, and has since gone on to make such hits as Love Actually, Notting Hill and Les Misérables. Ms Hayward spoke about how she got to where she is today, including the way the movie industry has changed from when she started out. Ms Hayward answered plenty of questions and encouraged those looking for a career in the media to consider other options than merely producer, director or screenwriter: the variety of jobs on offer from make-up artist to score composer are often overlooked, and Debra explained they can be safer bets in an otherwise unpredictable industry.
