Yesterday, local residents were welcomed to Eton’s annual Christmas Party. Around 60 people from Eton, Eton Wick, Dorney and Datchet celebrated the beginning of the festive season in style.

The annual party, organised by Mr Demery, Mr Shirwani, Ms Porcel-Martin and Ms Mehta as the Social Action Team, has become an Eton institution. With scrumptious Christmas fare provided by the Bekynton catering staff, local residents were entertained by the school Brass Band, magicians-in-training, and a rousing round of carols (although there was a collective expression of disapproval at the omission of Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer from the programme!).

Boys across the year groups chatted to residents and helped to lead the carol singing with humour and warmth – a fitting end to a wonderful half of community action.

You can watch some videos of the Christmas Party and carol singing here.
