The Literary and Comedy Societies welcomed Craig Brown (OE) of Private Eye to the Verey Gallery for a hilarious talk on comic and satirical writing. The meeting was exceptionally well attended with over 50 boys present. Craig Brown went through all forms of comic writing, delighting the audience with parodies of the good and great, particularly his pastiches of Twitter. He took questions at the end on the difficulties of parodying certain politicians and real life inspirations for much of his work. It was a highly enjoyable evening which left the audience crying with laughter and offered an insight into the art of satire.
