Every year on Eton College’s Founder’s Day Holiday, a Christmas Party is thrown for the elderly residents of Windsor and Eton, organised by the ECCE (Eton College Community Engagement) team. This year, around sixty guests aged fifty and older were treated to sandwiches, pastries, tea, and coffee whilst being serenaded. Felix Kirby performed a selection of piano music to start, which was followed by beautiful singing by Armaan Banerjee and Albert Soriano, accompanied by Kangwon Han on the piano. Once all the guests were settled in and enjoying themselves, the brass group continued the music.
Boys assisted with refilling teas and coffees, and interacted with the guests. Magicians Harry Bush, Alban Nolan, and Arthur James Tollit provided entertainment with their outstanding card and coin tricks. Towards the end of the celebration, Vernon Li and Christian East coordinated the raffle, with the winners taking home hampers filled with delicious treats. Finally, the brass group led everyone in some rousing Christmas carols.
Overall, it was a wonderful afternoon for everyone involved. Guests, boys, and staff all enjoyed themselves, and a big thank you goes to Mrs Shauna Gailey for all of the hard work and time she has devoted to making this event a success year after year.
