The Eton 1st VIII have won the Princess Elizabeth Challenge Cup at Henley Royal Regatta. They beat St Edward's School, Oxford in the final by one and a quarter lengths.

This is the commentary in the official race report:

After a fast start by both crews St Edward's led at the top of the Island and moved out to two thirds of a length at Fawley. Eton then attacked approaching Remenham and took the lead before the mile and the eighth. With a higher rating Eton pulled away up the Enclosures and drew away to a comfortable win. An epic race so enjoyed by the enclosure crowd.
