On the morning of January 3rd, the Upper Boats members of the ECBC trekked to Arnóia, Spain for their annual

winter training camp. Upon arrival in Porto, and having driven two hours across the border, the reservoir awaited them. Although some windy weather proved to be a difficult clime with which to row on the first day, the rest of the camp consisted of glassy water and sunset rows to make for some of the finest of conditions. With former Olympic coach Robin Williams at their side, the Etonian athletes made great technical progress as they gear up for the Head racing season ahead of them next term.

Many thanks must go out to Guy Pooley, The VIII coach Mark Fangen-Hall, Richard Hardy, Ellie Milne and Simon Biddle for making this camp as smooth and as successful as it was. Much additional appreciation should go out to Richard Hardy for taking some magnificent photos of the boys on the lake as well.
