Science Week at the Museum

On five successive afternoons in the last week classes from Eton Wick C of E First School have visited the Natural History Museum as part of their Science Week. Biology Department staff delivered activities on a mini-beasts theme so that the children were able to become more familiar with the classification of arthropods. Some learnt about walking in millipedes and others about the various colours of the Museum’s 6,000 butterflies and moths! The Museum has never been busier in its outreach programme, welcoming eight school groups in the last eight days. These have included two Year-7 groups from Langley Academy and a Year-5 group from Marish Primary School (Year-5) in Slough as well as the five Eton Wick classes. This is a level of outreach of which the museum is justly proud.
