His Excellency Sr Juan Falconi Puig gave an extremely interesting presentation, informing the Society about the current political and economic situation of Ecuador, and about the future of the country. Following this there was a question and answer session, at which point the controversial issue of Julian Assange’s asylum in the Ecuadorian embassy was, unsurprisingly, brought up. The evening was conducted entirely in Spanish and was well attended.
