The ISFA Cup 3rd round match between Bradfield and Eton on Saturday 13 November was the archetypal "game of two halves". Bradfield had the better of the first half, Harley Button’s turn and finish giving them the lead. Harry Lighton equalised for Eton from a free-kick but Bradfield restored their lead when Button scored his second from a tight angle. However, it was Eton who came out of the traps in the second half and it was no surprise when Mungo Haldane equalised, perhaps fortuitously, when a deflected free-kick fell to his feet. Ten minutes from time it was the merest of flicks from Haldane from a James Lighton free-kick from 40 yards out which deceived the Bradfield defence and went straight into the net to give Eton a 3-2 win.
