Italian Study Week – Easter 2012
Nick and Emanuela Roberts accompanied 13 boys in B and C Blocks to San Quirico d’Orcia, Tuscany, from 24th-31st March. The trip followed more or less the same formula as last year, milking the provincial setting for all it was worth, with boys as paying guests in host families, 20 or so hours of teaching, trips to Siena, Montepulciano and Pienza . The boys benefited considerably – both from a cultural and linguistic point of view.
Highlights included an eye-opening morning in a Sienese liceo, an evening meal in the “Drago” (Palio) contrada, a keenly fought football match against a local youth side and a relaxing afternoon in the thermal baths of Bagno Vignoni.
