The Entrepreneurship Society kicked of the half in style on 3 October with a Q&A session featuring Julian Dunkerton, the co-founder and CEO of fashion brand Superdry.

The evening started with questions from the secretaries that covered the conception of the company, its rollercoaster journey to the present day and what the future might hold. It was clear that what differentiated Superdry from its competitors was an obsession with quality, and the incorporation of branding into design, an entirely new idea at the turn of the millennium. The questioning was then opened to all the boys for the final half hour of the talk.

There was a great interest in how Superdry is making its operations more sustainable, and also in the challenges of expanding into different countries. The main advice Julian had for any budding entrepreneurs in the room was to always consider how your business impacts other people, be it customers, employees or the general public. It was clear that everyone in attendance learned a lot about what it takes to be successful in the real world. At the end there was an opportunity for selfies, which more than a few boys took up!

Overall, it was a very enjoyable evening for everyone concerned.
