The Literary Society took great pleasure in hosting Dr Henry Eliot, an expert on Chaucer, who spoke about his interest in the Canterbury Tales. A highlight of the talk was Dr Eliot’s hilarious summary of the Miller’s Tale. Having himself re-enacted the journey the pilgrims took, Dr Eliot was the perfect authority to speak on Chaucer, and his talk in the Marten Library was well received by the boys who attended.
