Lower Boy History Society and Lower Boy Classical Society: Joint Meeting

Monday 15 November 2010

Mr Ben Horan (BJCH) and Mr Matthew Holdcroft (MTH) did battle over whether one should study ancient or modern history. A hilarious and informative debate ensued, spanning two thousand years of history. BCJH proposed that classical history is just too difficult to study with so little source material; MTH argued that perhaps this was its strength, suggesting that the reason fewer people study classical history is simply its reputation. A vote at the end gave a decisive victory to modern history. Many thanks to BCJH, MTH, and GDM.
