Macmillan Society: Annual Charity Event
The Macmillan Society welcomed Sir Terry Wogan, Dougray Scott, Dominic West OE, Jeremy Gilley and Helen McCrory to Eton for its annual charity event. This year, the society succeeded in raising over £20,000 for Children in Need, The Prince’s Trust and Peace One Day. The panel of speakers engaged in anecdotal discussion about their lives as actors, how they rose to fame and what keeps them motivated to appear on screen. Sir Terry acted as a charming and witty host in order to direct discussion, probing the panel about life on set and the range of celebrities with whom they have worked. To top it all off, there was a fabulous performance by the school’s a capella group, the Incognitos. Over 450 Etonians, students from other schools, and guests enjoyed this rare opportunity to hear first-hand about the film and television industry from such accomplished personalities.
