The Curator of the Natural History Museum made the journey up to Middlesbrough at the weekend to talk to the annual meeting of the Captain Cook Society on the topic of ‘Sir Joseph Banks, a Lifetime of Endeavour’. The meeting was held at the Captain Cook Birthplace Museum at Marton and was attended by over fifty Cook aficionados. This was a great chance to network as well as a wonderful opportunity to tour this excellent museum which has a number of items connected with Joseph Banks and his involvement with the Endeavour voyage.
