Although school closed on 1 July, the Eton College Natural History Museum has been more active than ever in laying on a number of workshops and events for local primary schools during the first two weeks of the holidays. Schools from Datchet and Slough brought 4 groups to find out more about the botanical discoveries of Sir Joseph Banks OE and the excitement of Captain Cook’s Endeavour voyage. The Museum also ran a Family Learning Event for parents and children from Oakfield School in Windsor which introduced the main arthropod groups and featured a Lego Scorpion and the Museum’s famous millipede model. On Sunday 16th July, a large group from the Sir Joseph Banks Society visited the Museum. GDF
