Will Geffen (MGHM), Captain of the Lower Boats, has been named as a member of the Great Britain Rowing Team for the World Rowing Junior Championships that take place in Trakai, Lithuania from Wednesday 7th to Sunday 11th August.
Five Etonians were invited to the GB Junior Rowing Team’s Final Trials that took place at the National Water Sports Centre in Nottingham last week. They all acquitted themselves well and in addition to Will being selected for the World Rowing Junior Championships,
Charlie Thurston (GRP), next year’s Captain of the Boats was selected to row in the eight at the Coupe de la Jeunesse in Lucerne-Rotsee, Switzerland from Friday 2nd to Sunday 4th August.
Alex Barakat (MJP) just missed out on the Coupe squad, but has been named in the England Team for the Home International Regatta at the National Water Sports Centre on Saturday 27th July.
Ian Lawson, the Coach of the VIII, has been asked to coach the coxless four at the Coupe.
