Rowing in the US over Long Leave

Over Long Leave, at the Head of the Charles regatta in Boston, the VIII came second out of a field of some 75 crews, going one better than last year. First place again went to Marin Rowing Association from the West coast, who draw talented athletes from a number of schools in that area. The 2nd VIII climbed two places to finish 19th, a very respectable performance in a field of first boats. As ever, our thanks go to the coaches and families of Belmont Hill School, who hosted us so generously. On Saturday members of the VIII successfully defended their title in the junior coxed fours category at the Fours’ Head, rowed on the Tideway in London. The Fours’ Head attracts a very high quality field, and all those schools who row competitively this half were there, making this a very encouraging result.
