Rugby VII

The 1st VII competed at the Windsor 7s on Sunday, March 6. This is a prestigious tournament, with 25 schools from across the South of England competing, including Wellington, Sherborne, Rugby, Bryanston, and RGS High Wycombe.

After some impressive performances in the group stages, Eton faced a strong Hampton VII in the Q-F, running out 31-36 winners. In the S-F, they faced a Henley College VII side with strong links to London Wasps RFC, Eton won 38 – 14 playing some excellent sevens.

In a close fought final, despite playing some exciting rugby, Eton eventually lost 14-26 to a very strong Bedford side.

Keeper of VIIs – Ed Oram (PBS), Vice-Keeper – Felix Hartley Russell (SMM), Charles Horn (AW) and Seb Williams (MAG) were all awarded their VIIs colours for their contributions to the club and excellent performances throughout the day.
