Whilst the pandemic has caused disruption, it has also enabled innovation and ingenuity. One such product of this creative time has been The Agathon, Eton’s online philosophy magazine.
The Agathon released its first edition in honour of the Fourth of June celebrations in 2020. It included a wide range of articles on topics such as free will, the ethics of lockdown, equality and even the philosophy of Rick and Morty.
Three editions have followed, focusing on more specific areas of society and philosophical questions. The Agathon has explored the philosophy of money, philosophy of the media and philosophy of government.
The Agathon will soon be publishing its fifth edition of the magazine, entitled ‘philosophy of the self’, which will round off a year of tremendous success for the editors, organisers and writers so far.
