The Law Society was honoured to host The Right Honourable Sir Konrad Schiemann to speak on ‘The EU as seen from the inside’. Sir Konrad astutely talked about the differences in judges outlooks, as they all come from very different countries with their own agendas. He then described how coming from an English background into a European scenario was a reality check, as the British viewpoint wasn’t always seen as of paramount importance. Sir Konrad concluded by suggesting that a compromise in European affairs is often necessary, and should be taken in the current issue of British membership in Europe.
