Defining Paths with The Africa Society

Defining Paths with The Africa Society

On Monday this week the African Society hosted Olamide Dada to speak on ‘Defining Your Own Path’. She gave us an insight into her journey to becoming a medical student and how she founded the non-profit organisation Melanin Medics. As the director of the organisation, she aims to tackle the lack of diversity in the medical field and provide opportunities for Afro-Caribbean students to get involved in medicine. During her time as a student at Cardiff University, she was voted head of the Afro-Caribbean Society and has since been awarded a scholarship at the  Healthcare Leadership Academy. The talk she gave inspired the boys and helped us to consider defining our own paths.
