Security Officer

We have a vacancy for a confident and vigilant Security Officer.  In this role you will have responsibility for ensuring the safety and security of people, premises and property.We're looking for an individual who can think on their feet, while keeping calm under pressure. You will need to be enthusiastic and enjoy working as part of a team.  The ability to relate effectively to young people is essential.

The ideal candidate must be flexible and have good verbal and written communications skills.  A clean UK Driving Licence is essential and a current SIA CCTV licence would be desirable, although training is available.

Porter

We are seeking to appoint a Porter to join our team in the Porters’ Lodge.  We are looking for an enthusiastic person who enjoys working as part of a team, and is able to relate effectively to young people and visitors to the school.   The Porters’ Lodge is often the first point of call for visitors to Eton and the on duty Porter needs to have an approachable, friendly and polite manner. Porters’ duties include providing assistance and information to many varied visitors, College staff and boys.  Good interpersonal skills and a smart appearance are essential.

Working hours average 28 hours per week and are based on a three week rota which includes mornings, afternoons and weekend working.

Head of Stewardship

To compliment the increasing fundraising activities and successes of the development team at Eton College we are looking for someone to now lead our stewardship efforts for all levels of donor. You will have a proven track record in fundraising, knowledge of a range of stewardship practices and an understanding and appreciation of Eton College’s ethos and future vision. You should possess a critical eye to detail, have fresh relevant ideas and a desire to make a positive impact. Conservation Steward

We are seeking to appoint a Conservation Steward for the College’s Collections, which are housed in historic buildings and include fine and decorative art, as well as books and manuscripts, natural history specimens and ethnographic artefacts.  The role will involve advising curators and liaising with other departments in the College, so the ability to communicate well and work as part of a team is essential. The role would suit someone with previous experience in preventative conservation, conservation cleaning and liaising with specialist conservators.  A postgraduate or vocational qualification in preventive conservation or an area relating to conservation care would be desirable. Please click on the job title above to download a copy of the job description.

Conservation Cleaner

We are seeking to appoint a Conservation Cleaner to take responsibility for specialist conservation cleaning, to ensure an appropriate level of care and presentation of the objects in the College Collections and the historic buildings. The role would suit someone with previous experience in a conservation cleaning or preventive conservation position. Director of Outreach and Partnership

Charitable outreach and partnership are important to Eton College. The school spends £6.5m per annum on means-tested bursaries with 74 boys currently on 100% bursaries and a further 200 in receipt of significant financial support.  Eton is looking to develop further the many external educational partnerships that already exist and explore the possibilities of creating new links, both home and abroad. These will continue to include links with local state schools, with tertiary and charitable partners and with international institutions and organisations, promoting the global advancement of education. 

We are now looking for someone to lead our activities and strategy in this area. Reporting directly to the Head Master, you will be a member of the senior leadership team. Head Chef – Dorney Lake

General Porter - Dorney Lake

40 hours per week – Working straight shifts on a rota

We are seeking a General Porter to be responsible for cleaning and maintaining standards in the kitchen at Dorney Lake.  Duties will include keeping work areas clean, washing up, cleaning equipment and utensils whilst maintaining standards and correct levels of cleanliness. Accept deliveries to the kitchen and maintain stock, as well as assisting with setting up events and delivering food and beverages to all parts of Dorney site and Queens Eyot.

The ideal candidate must have relevant experience, ideally with a background in catering/hospitality and the ability to work well in a team. This position will involve working evenings and weekends.

Boarding House Relief Chef (Live In)

We are looking for an experienced and creative Chef to join the team in one of our Boarding Houses. They will be required to cater for the Housemaster and his family and for house social functions. In addition they will prepare and cook a mid-morning snack for the boys and provide cover in the College’s other catering facilities.

The role is varied and the ideal candidate must have the ability to use their own initiative and to be flexible.  They should also have a relevant catering qualification and/or previous experience within a similar environment.

Chambers Cook - Mustians

We require a Chambers Cook to help provide Chambers (mid-morning snack) for the boys and staff in one of our Boarding Houses. 

The ideal candidate will be enthusiastic, enjoy working as part of a team, and have the ability to relate effectively to young people.

Pantry Assistant (Live In)

We are looking for a Pantry Assistant to work in one of our Boarding Houses. The Pantry Assistant will provide a full dining service to the boys in the House plus help setting up for meals and responsible for cleaning the kitchen, dining room and pantry areas.

The ideal candidate must have food service experience as you will be providing a full dining service to the boys plus serving at private House functions.

Closing date: Friday 12 February 2016 at noon.
