Royal Society of Medicine Careers Day

Eton College’s fourth annual Royal Society of Medicine Careers Day took place on Saturday 22nd June. The event, organised and hosted by the school, was attended by 130 students aged between 16 and 17 from over 55 schools, with students travelling from as far afield as Wales, Yorkshire and Paris. The morning sessions, led by experienced careers advisors and medics, focused on aptitude tests, personal statements, work experience and interview techniques. The afternoon sessions provided the students with an opportunity to hear doctors explain the career path from medical student to consultant. George Fussey, The Medical Careers Advisor at Eton, was delighted both by the high turnout and the excellent feedback for this event which is low cost, high impact and invaluable for anyone considering a career in medicine. He paid tribute to all those in the medical profession who gave freely of their time to reach out to prospective medical students.
