A year to remember for the Keynes Society

David Smith from the Sunday Times was on sparkling form last night when his presentation and discussion on the state of the UK economy rounded off a very busy year for the Keynes Society. It was a delight to welcome some new schools to the meeting last night and to meet up again with friends from past events. The speaker programme for 2009-10 has been full and varied and I thank the students for their persistence and tenacity in organising some terrific meetings since September. This year’s speakers were: Simon Henry (CFO of Shell plc); Lord John Eatwell (University of Cambridge); Paul Donovan (Chief Economist of UBS); Tim Harford (FT); Jon Moulton (Better Capital); Stefan Szymanski (Cass Business School); Andrew Sentance (BoE MPC); Jim O’Neill (Chief Global Economist of Goldman Sachs); David Smith (Economics Editor of the Sunday Times).
