Around 25 boys came to the Simeon Society to listen to Mr Andrew Philips, who is the co-founder and Managing Director of ICG (Intermediate Capital Group). He now owns and runs his own venture capital business. Having worked in the city for many years as a Christian, he came to speak on the title ‘How should we define success?’ He spoke very well explaining when he was young had set up his own company and before the age of thirty he was a millionaire. Yet he felt nothing, no great euphoria. He said that true success comes not when we succeed but when it is done to glorify and honour God. This principle gives a more fulfilled and enriched life. After the talk there were drinks and brownies for all who had come as well as a bookstall from which boys could borrow a book to read.
