History Society:
Mr Laurence Rees on making historical documentaries

The BBC documentary producer, Laurence Rees came to talk to the History Society about his works on WW2 and the Cold War. He answered a series of very interesting questions regarding the future of history and how it will be presented in the various forms of media. His attempts to try to attract younger audiences to historical programmes, without compromising the integrity of the material, will be vital in maintaining interest in his subject area as time goes by. We were lucky enough to see a prototype of his new website which offers a comprehensive summary of WW2 in an interactive format. All in all, a most enjoyable and insightful evening.
